Randy Couture vs. Mark Coleman Fight Odds

Two of MMA oldest worriors will fight at light-heavyweight division, when 44-year old Mark Coleman meets 46-year old legend Randy Couture at UFC 109 on Feb. 6th.

This fight should be a high-level wrestling match with both these fighters styles backgrounds in wrestling. Coleman, 16-9, is a physically imposing physical specimen that is at this best when he has top position and can maul opponents with his ground and pound. Coleman’s last fight was unanimous decision win over contender Stephen Bonnar at UFC 100 where he was a 3-1 underdog.

Couture, 17-10, is coming off a boring razor-close decision win over Brandon Vera this past weekend at UFC 105. Couture is warrior that is also excellent when in top position on the mat and in the clinch when standing with his dirty boxing skills.

Couture, 46, is the only fighter to have held titles in both the UFC’s light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2006. He is also a two-time Div. I National Championships team member and a two-time NCAA Div. I runner-up for Oklahoma State University.

Mike Swick vs. Paulo Thiago

Mike Swick has agreed to step in for his injured American Kickboxing Academy teammate Josh Koscheck on short notice and face Paulo Thiago (12-1) at UFC 109 on Feb. 6.

Swick (14-3) had won 9 of his last 10, including four-straight at 170-pounds, before dropping a unanimous decision to upcoming welterweight challenger Dan Hardy in November. The loss marked his first since dropping down to welterweight in 2008.

After upsetting Koscheck with a first-round knockout in his UFC debut in February, Thiago (12-1) dropped a unanimous decision to Jon Fitch in July before topping Jacob Volkmann in November.

28-year-old Paulo Thiago (fighting out of Brasilia, Brazil) made his name on the international scene with his first round TKO of Koscheck in February 2009, and after a memorable battle with Jon Fitch and a victory over Jacob Volkmann in November at UFC 106, Thiago looks to kick off his 2010 campaign in style by repeating his spectacular win over “Kos” at UFC 95 in the 1stRound of their matchup last February.

UFC 109 is expected to feature a light heavyweight battle between Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Brandon Vera. Aging UFC welterweights Matt Serra and Frank Trigg are also slated to hook 'em up.
