Location: Las Vegas, Nev.
Venue: Mandalay Bay Events Center
Broadcast: Pay per view

Georges St. Pierre will defend his welterweight title against number one division contender Thiago Alves in main event of the landmark UFC 100 pay-per-view (PPV) event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 11. Their fight will be one of three great fights, with Frank Mir taking on Brock Lesnar in a UFC 81 rematch. Heavyweights Lesnar and Mir were originally scheduled to face off at UFC 98 on May 23 in Las Vegas, but Mir withdrew from the bout to recover from knee surgery.

The hulking Lesnar (3-1) toppled former champion Randy Couture with a second-round technical knockout at UFC 91 last November to seize the title in only his fourth career bout.

Mir, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, stopped former Pride champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira with strikes in the second round at UFC 92 in December to earn the interim gold. Mir submitted Lesnar with a kneebar in 90 seconds during their first encounter at UFC 81 in February 2008.

Dan Henderson will be testing his skills against Michael "The Count" Bisping. Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson, who are coaches on the currently airing ninth season of "The Ultimate Fighter," will earn the winner a middleweight title shot.

Bisping was an early selection to coach Team U.K. on the show, which is the first season to use a country-vs.-country format. Henderson won the Team U.S. slot by beating Rich Franklin in January.

Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre defending his belt against Thiago Alves.

St. Pierre last defended his title in decisive fashion over UFC lightweight champion B.J. Penn (13-5-1 MMA, 9-4-1 UFC) in a rematch of their 2006 clash. St. Pierre dominated Penn for four straight rounds. Penn acknowledged that he had sustained such abuse that he was more than likely knocked out on his feet after the second round. His corner threw in the towel at the end of round four to save the Hawaiian from further punishment.

Thiago Alves (16-3), who is coming off wins against Matt Hughes and Josh Koscheck. Alves has been an absolute monster of late, finishing top-ranked opponents Matt Hughes and Karo Parisyan, as well as outpointing Josh Koscheck on all three judges scorecards, in his three most recent performances.

He has been on a two-year tear, with five of his last seven wins ending by way of (technical) knockout. Alves, in fact, has not lost since 2006, which was against another top fighter in the division, Jon Fitch.

Rap-rock and nu-metal band Limp Bizkit will add a little more history to the UFC 100 extravaganza when the multi-platinum-selling group makes its first North American concert in eight years as a part of the UFC 100 weekend. The rap-metal group performs on the eve of UFC 100, July 10, at Mandalay Bay Beach as part of its "Unicorns N' Rainbows" tour.
