2008 NFL Preseason “Quick Analysis”
Green Bay Packers

Location: Green Bay, Wisconsin
Stadium: Lambeau Field
Coach: Mike McCarthy
NFL Championships: AFL-NFL Super Bowl I (1966), Super Bowl II (1967) & Super Bowl XXXI (1996)

Sign Up Click HereThe era of Brett Favre is over now, and Aaron Rodgers is set to take the spot under center as Packers fans still expect big things from a very talented team. Green Bay will see a team with an emerging running back, Ryan Grant, and young defense that proved it matured last season.

Rodgers has great targets in Greg Jennings and Donald driver. His arm will decide if the fans are standing or sitting sour in their seats. A solid offensive line should keep Rodgers on his feet and open up holes for the north-south runner Grant.

The Packers defense is fierce with Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila putting pressure on the opposing quarterback and Nick Barnett ready to stop the run up the middle. Charles Woodson and Al Harris are veteran corner backs with a few years left to make playoff tickets necessary for every true packer fan.

The team has a schedule packed with NFC North games, so the division with nearly every team in flux could be easy fodder for Green Bay. This will be an interesting season as the fans will surely go through Favre withdrawal at some point.

Some Green Bay Packers history: The Packers predate the NFL. The team was founded in Green Bay on August 11, 2020, by two young players, George Calhoun and Curly Lambeau. The Indian Packing Plant, Lambeau's employer, donated uniforms and the use of an athletic field. During the team's first season in 1920, players earned their salaries by passing hats among spectators.
