Manny Gamburyan vs. Thiago Tavares, Jake O’Brien vs. Christian Wellisch, and Matt Arroyo vs. Dan Cramer are officially slated for the preliminary card.

Georges St-Pierre Vs. BJ Penn II

BJ "The Prodigy" Penn seems to always continue to get better each and every fight. He is the most decorated jiu-jitsu athlete in America and the first non-Brazilian to win the world championships at the black belt level. In his last fight, Penn knocked out Sean Sherk in the third round in UFC 84. Prior to that fight he choked out both Joe Stevenson and Jens Pulver. BJ Penn is 30 years old, weighs 170 lbs. and has a height of 5'9". He was born in Kailua, Hawaii and is fighting out of Hilo, Hawaii. He holds a 14-4-1 MMA record. BJ Penn has excellent submissions and strong standup skills.

St Pierre(17-2) has won his last 4 fights and may be looking to move up and challenge Andersen Silvia for the middleweight title once this match is done. This is going to be a classic match both these men are evenly match Penn is one of the best in Brazilian jujitsu in the world. Pierre who trains his wrestling with the Canadian Olympic team should be even on the ground. Pierre has excellent take down but Penn has one of the best take down defenses in the UFC. Penn’s only advantage may be a slight one in his hand while St-Pierre may have a huge conditioning advantage, depending which Penn shows up.

Lightweights Nate Diaz and Clay Guida are set to square off at UFC 94 on January 31st in Las Vegas.

Diaz was originally slated to meet fellow lightweight contender Clay Guida in his next bout, potentially in December on Spike TV, but the matchup was scrapped after Guida suffered a foot injury in his recent win over Mac Danzig.

Lightweights Nate Diaz has won five-straight contests, Diaz has racked up victories over Manny Gamburyan, Junior Assuncao, Alvin Robinson, Kurt Pellegrino, and Josh Neer since mid-2007.
